Wait to start light

As soon as it got warm out wait to start light flashing. Checked codes with service engine light got a 23 air temperture sensor. I got a new one did not help. Wait to start light stays on then flashed when it is running. I noticed a little more black smoke when I am going down the road and give it more throttle. Checked wires and everything I could think of. Any help with this would be great. Thanks.

Well I wont be much help on the code itself but the engine won't run any different if a sensor is wrong. The controls on the engine are 100% mechanical it will run exactly the same if you take the computer right out of the truck. That sensor likely only used for the grid heater control.

Did you change the right sensor cause there's two air temp sensors ones for the ksb and the other is for the grids.

Changed the front one do not know how to test the ksb switch. Could it be the ksb sensor. Thanks

Mine does that because the connector is too loose. Wiggling the wires around
usually gets the light to quit flashing for a while. Been meaning to get a new connector and splice it in.
