I just put 2'' alcans in mine, haven't driven it yet but they seem to be built much better than stock. I think they were 230/ea.

Yup you bet. Here is a few pics in comparing the stock VS alcan. You can see the longer 2nd leaf of the alcans will hold the weight better and should not sag as quickly. Bill at Alcan was very good to deal with too.

Really, ?? Wow..

I did the same thing, and I haven't had any issue at all.

When I got my SD springs, I brought them to my local spring shop, had them add the sliders between the leafs and added 2" to the height. Been great ever since. Really surprises me, but I guess anything can happen.

How much have yours sagged ? Where are they sagging ? Can you post pix ?

If I ever did my springs over again, I would have a custom "main" spring made out of a thicker leaf, as the OEM main spring is a little thin for my liking, and seems to have a slight bend where it meets the #2 leaf just below it. Seems a little too far rearwards from the main to #2, but that's the stock configuration. It's either that or add one more leaf between the two. You can see what I mean in the pix Biltit posted above. I guess Alcan has addressed this issue.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with them. I guess I'll have to look @ mine the next time I'm under there.

What mods did you have to do to install them ?

When I spoke to Jungle, he said that new holes would have to be drilled in the frame, as this mount he makes was designed to be lower than the original frame mount. This was the only reason I didn't buy them, as I didn't feel comfortable drilling new holes in my frame.

Maybe I misunderstood him, but when I told him I was nervous about figuring out where they were to be mounted, he said he understood what I meant. I don't think they're supposed to go in the same bolt holes, according to Jungle.

How did you do yours ?

They go in the same bolt holes you just have to make the center hole where the bushing is bigger thru the frame. He includes a template to do it

Yup, bolt on the template and enlarge the centre hole, pretty easy. I would rather replace the whole mount than try and dig out the old bushing and put a new one in, thats my opinion anyways.

Yup, thats how it's done on a 4X4 frame. I don't have a 2WD conversion template yet but if I can get a section of 2WD frame I'll make some.

I would keep the springs and buy the 2" or 3" Hangar/Shackle lift from Jungle . that's what I'm gonna do. it replaces the front leaf spring hangar and the shackle on the rear of the front leaf spring. Keeps your steering geometry correct.
