VP44 as an upgrade to VE?
First, does a VP44 have more fuel volume potential than a VE?
Second, has anyone built a standalone controller or a mechanical conversion for a VP44?

Hard to imagine anyone sinking the time, effort, or money into putting a pump on a 12V that is as weak and unreliable as a VP44. Life expectancy of those things is a little over 100K (per Bosch service center). Ruining a 12V, IMO.

Ok, bad idea. I thought maybe the VP44 was an evolutution of the VE, but it sounds like more of a devilution.... I'm just casting about because I'm afraid I ruined my VE.

from what I am gathering the only thing wrong with them is the electronics module that is on the pump gets too hot and fails. That is easily fixed with a pancake fan.

The same reason we can't make 1,500 hp like a P-Pump. Their fueling capability is higher than the VE's (to one degree or another). Like a P-Pump, a modified VP44 can flow more fuel than a modified VE.
