Are any of the wires numbered or labeled

Not sure about that unit but my guess would be.

Green to Field
Red to battery pos.
Black to ground
Orange to ign. switch
You will also need an ignition wire to the other terminal on the alternator stator
A large wire to battery connected to big terminal on alternator

It will not hurt anything if you get field and stator reversed. It will just overcharge. You will know to swap them.

EDIT: The ring terminals on the wires tell me that it may be for self energizing. No wires to ignition switch. If that is the case. Red to batt terminal, black to ground, green to field, orange to stator. Where did you get it? Any info in description

I purchased it on Amazon but it didnt come with instructions .
I did find instructions online but it said remove alternator rear cover and heres where the wires go .
But my alternator doesnt have a rear cover and my screws were all different than the picture .
The instructions I found online did mention the orange wire to ignition so Its not self energizing .
I think I had it wired up correctly but just didnt put switched power to the orange wire .
Ill try wiring it up again on Saturday .
For now , the problem is the regulator in the ECM randomly stops working and my voltage drops to 11
.

Google install transpo 8315 and there are several vids that come up with good instructions easy peasy. I have installed several and they work but I prefer to bite the bullet and get the 1 wire alt for these. Alot of times the reason the alt quits working is rhe keyed hot signal wire goes bad and it will drive you nuts trying to find the bad spot.

How are the other functions of the PCM working?
Does the auto still shift into O/D?
A/C still work?
Cruise?
Grid heaters?

There is also a very good article in the sticky's under electrical by dumptruck200. The important part is #3 to bend the green wire out of the way on the stock connector and tape it off.

I have an alternator from PA performance it was the best thing I did to my truck it doesn’t blow the voltage regulator bounce when the lights are on I bolted it on and it worked so if you can’t get it to work that’s what I would do

The overdrive function worked well in warm weather , not as good on cold days .
I did the , unplug the TPS and wire the TPS harness to a 5K potentiometer which works great .
You can actually adjust the speed at which the O.D. engages .
AC works fine .
Cruise control works fine .
Grid heaters work fine .

I was checking those one wire alternators from PA performance out online .
Id really like to get one but the cost to ship to Canada is .
I messaged them and asked if I could stop in and pick one up at their location, but they only ship , no counter sales .
I actually drove by the area today , on my way from Delaware back to Ontario .
Also the Canadian dollar exchange is so bad right now due to the mismanagement of our country . That alternator would end up costing me close to $650 or more .
This regulator was $40 .
