Voltage Regulator
Voltage Regulator
Occasionally my charging system acts up and starts to overcharge,
when it happens it lasts for about 30 seconds then goes back to normal.
I assume I'm having a regulator issue, I have good grounding from the regulator
to the engine block and body.
Should I try the Blue Mopar regulator PN I saw in the sticky
or try the internal regulator conversion in the sticky?
The alternator is a reman unit put on two years ago and the
regulator is a std replacement from Chrysler.
Any thoughts?

I had this problem recently, turns out it was a loose negative battery cable! I'd check as many grounds as possible, but it could be that voltage regulator as well, although I believe the internal ones are more prone to failure than the external ones.
yeah but i bought about 3 from autozone and all of them let it overcharge, and blew my headlights. i ended up going to the scrap yard and grabbed about 5 OE ones for 5 bucks a piece. they work like a champ.
