voltage reading

Is this a normal reading for a volt gauge? I have heard of putting a external voltage regulator on a 92' or 93' and wondered if i need to perform it? Thanks guys!

Its usually between where it is on the pic and straight up and down. Just wanted to see if it was ok. never had starting or battery problems so i guess i have nothing to worry about.

Min runs the same spot if you look at the little dot it should indicate 12.7 volts higher than that when charging.
