Vibration in gear at idle

So, out of the blue I've developed a serious vibration at idle where I feel the entire truck is ready to shake apart, when shifted to neutral that vibration subsides.
So far this is what I have noticed, the trans mount bushings are in good condition and not broken or cracked im sure its time to change them back out but I don't want to rule out that its toast.
secondly when I swapped from the getrag back to the 727 I noticed I installed the crossmember reverse wasn't aware there was a direction but it bolted in anyone here have a similar experience?
head scratcher...

I swear it would be funny that the TQ converter is taking a crap rebuilt the trans a few years ago and right after I did a 5 speed swap,
just hope that's not the case. appreciate the advice ill take your word and start poking around.

Cracked flex plat or loose bolts will do it, or maybe the harmonic balancer.

I would guess like Cougar, loose flex plate bolts or a cracked flex plate is very likely.

just inspected the flex plate and nothing seems broken or loose.
onto figure if the torque converter is causing issues... just had a new one pop up longer delay to engage in drive when cold.
fluid is clean and red and it seems to shift normally when warmed still have the vibrations at idle when stopped in gear.
oliver ever have any issues with the vb's on these 727s?

The few 727 shifted trucks I have owned as drivers, drove fine for me, but I still swapped them over to manual shifted transmissions.

well you know the only reason I went back to the 727 was because I grenaded the getrag. the 3 speed is driving me nuts.

I spoke with an old timer tranny guy about the VB on 727 because I thought I had a problem with one on my old chrysler wagon. He said in the 30+ years he's been doing trannies he's never had/seen a VB on a 727 fail...unless modified by the owner.

Perhaps your exhaust is hitting the cross member, frame, shock, leaf spring etc?

The small inspection covers in these rigs don't give us very much to look at. Nearly impossible to get a wrench on the tc bolts too. You can't see the flex to crank bolts either. I'd pull the rubber plug, and test the torque on the 5 TC to flexplate bolts to ensure theyre right. You can get a glimpse of the flex plate further inward as well.

Pay attention to noise. If that vibration changes to noise, particularly scraping or squealing, turn it off, and get it towed home or shop. Don't drive it further, as you can wipe out the adapter plate.

If nothing else, look at your harmonic balancer, and see if it spit out the rubber sleve, albeit unlikely.

Firstly thank you guys for all sending some useful information,
i will be separating the trans from the engine tonight to verify nothing is making contact.
Albeit I have a DD I use I always like my rig to be in operable condition.
Before I left the shop I did check to see if the exhaust was touching the crossmember and it is not.
if I cant pin point this vibration I am going to start replacing all mounts and bushings just because.
thanks guys!

just so every body knows whats going on, replaced bushings and the vibration slightly subsided.
separated trans from engine 3rd time, not going to fool with dumping money on the 727. I will be rebuilding the Getrag as this is what my overall swap was for in the first place the 727 was a backup.
I will remove the torque converter and have it halved to see whats up with it once I have the rag in just to show the vibration cause and if it was what failed and caused that issue to begin with. torque on all bolts were at spec.
still have a vibration oh well. may need some help locating some getrag internal parts once I see what I grenaded internally.

thanks again everyone and sorry for the slow update
