Thank You for Your answers. I did search with google and came up with the same results I think, the expensive balancer You say is one filled with fluid for $488. I also found one where a 6bt balancer was adapted by using a spacer and longer bolts.

The engine does shake but after some reading I came to believe it is normal for this engine, compared to the 6bt it shakes a it more. It didn't change after I had the fuel injectors rebuilt so it must be about right. I don't want to put a balancer if it is not needed, just thought it might help.

4 hole diesel engine would want to rock on the mounts a bit at idle fer sure. Lotsa torq, and 1 hit every 180 degrees. If it's even, and smooths out with speed, I'd consider it normal.

Got to thinking. Many 4 cylinder engines have a counter shaft with eccentric weights to counter the naturlal vibration of a 4 banger. One I worked on (Leyland tractor) had 2 of em.

If it doesn't have a counterweight shaft it about has to shake. If it does, the shaft might be out of time. I can't put my hands on a 4BT schematic to see if it has one or not.

Mine shakes like crazy. You can turn the idle up a bit to smooth it some. If I idle around long enough tail riding u get used to it then feel funny when u get out.

No tach on the engine, but I think it sounds like 700-900rpms.

Someone offered Me a 6bt balancer, I was thinking I would give that a try, apparently it does not hurt a thing.
