VE pump redline
Well i was putzin around today and happened to notice a ve pump on one of the diesel BMW's. I thought the redline of a ve pump was only 3k-4k rpm's, however the ve on the 524 turbo diesel bmw is over 5k. It looks identical to the one on my truck, even has the afc pin. I tried to take the cover off of it to see what kind of taper it has, but i got busy and didnt finish.I'm gonna git it out tomorrow to see what it looks like.<br> -Jim-

Yessir, the VE pump is run in applications exceeding 5k. However, the governor spring is different than ours. (So Ive heard). If you can, get the number off of the bottom of the eccentric cone and post it. Thanks

Ya, Monty wants you to snag the governor spring too.... he's gonna run "Twins"..... ;D
Seriously though, I'd bet the roller/cam plate are different, the plunger, and the gov. weights, cam plate springs, etc...
