Valve springs and governor spring
So I've put both n my truck now. I did the valve springs yesterday and noticed that it was trying to spool quicker. Could only get 30 psi out of the hx 35. Egts were slower to rise. Today I put the 374 gov spring in it. Just got back from a test drive on i75. HOLY $$$$. I can run well over 100mph if I want. Rpms r way up cause of the 3 speed. At 75 mph I'm at half throttle. With plenty of power left. From a dead stop it now really moves out. 35 psi easily. But the egts climb stupid fast. Will hit 1100 by the time it hits third. Shift point has changed from 2400 to 2800. Throttle response is a lot quicker. Smoke and haze has all but gone away. I am really plzd with the results. Towing my little 4500 pound camper will be interesting. Will be installing an intercooler when I get home n may. Sure that will help a lot. I think towing right now will be ok but I'll be driving by the egt gauge to get home. I'm sure the 727 is n for a short life but gonna stick with it for now. Got some decisions to make about that. AnywY here are some pics.

The pic of the pump top is to show how far the fuel screw is turned n. Does that look right. That's only about a turn and a half but it hangs if I turn it n any more

You may want to look into a 16cm turbine housing. The 12cm is pretty small tor a auto trans.

It would spool slower to start off with but push more air on the top end.
Therefore it would help to cool better.

If you where to buy one new, you might want to weight the option of getting a 14 CM exhaust housing as a compromise of faster spooling and lower EGT up top...

I just read that on a different web sight. New ones r going for about 175 bucks. Would my down pipe still work. This might be something I do while I'm here n Georgia. Before I have to pull the camper home

Ive been reading about the 14cm and 16 cm housings. Im not sure which one to get. I got on my truck pretty hard today on the way to work. The egts climb stupid fast. That makes me think 16. But I hate to buy one and it be to big. I'm gonna put an intercooler on it when I get home but I don't think that will be enough at wot to keep the egts down. So that make me think 14. Then I think just wAit till I get the intercooler on and see. But I have some pretty good pulls on the way back home. I wonder if I put the stock fuel pin back n would that bring the egt back down. Any suggestions r greatly appreciated. And where would I get the rubber diafram for the afc. That way I could just drop the stock pin n it. Thanks

Any local Bosch injector shop will have that diaphragm. Or, hungry diesel.com may have that part. I bought mine from him last year.
Dan, if you look back in the archive posts on turbo mods, the dates of 2000-2004, you will see that most suggestions for best bang for the buck was a 2nd Gen HX35 coupled with a 16cm exhaust housing. Flowed enough air for towing purposes, and also spooled quick enough for in town driving.
