Valet switch ?
Valet switch ?
hey yall, I'm very new to this forum site, the first gen era and the cummins in them. I here allot about a "Valet Switch" And I was woundering what the actual purpose is and when you need to install it. This may seem like a dumb ? to some of yall but I'm kinda in the dark on it. Hopefully someone can explain it to me. Thanx allot.
it is a switch that cuts into your afc housing, where without the swich when boost comes up it pushes down on you fuel pin, thusly allowing more fuel when boost comes up. but with the switch it keeps the pin at low boost setting, this is used alot with modded trucks that have egt problems. so if you have one you can cut off the boost supply to the pin and have no more egt problems. it lets you have your cake and eat it too. where you can have a firebreathing weekend warrior/daily driver
I C Gomer, I think I understand what ur telling me. Basically it lets you operate with less EGT's when it's on and let's it operate normal when it's in the off position? I think I have that right. But please correct me if im mistaken. Thanks again.
that's the idea. you could achieve the same thing with a foot of tubing and a ball valve.... but then you couldn't be cool and control it in the cab for the extra power! I'm considering the ball valve just to see the effects.
