Upper 4x4 kingpin torque specs?

Anyone happen to know what the torque specs are - for the top kingpin bolts on a 4x4? My 93 FSM states 80 lb ft for the lower king pin bolts, and 500-600 ft lbs for the upper. The 500-600 ft lb seems VERY high? So far I have torqued the uppers to 100 ft lb.

howdy, the top king pin bolts will not be 500-600, thats for that big alen wrench type of stud where the bushing goes around, those 4 bolts i just tightended hard with the air gun they are supposed to be 70-90 ft.lbs

oh and your talking about the upper king pin cap bolts, those 4? if so follow the specs of what i just wrote.

For the Kingpin ITSELF the torque value is 600 ft/lbs. For the cap that holds the spring that holds down the nylon bushing is, I believe as stated above 70-90 ft/lbs.

Good luck!

like murf said the king pin is a 600 ft/lbs torque. Its three guys on a 8 ft breaker bar.

All,
Thanks for the upper kingpin nut torque specs! 100 ft pd (which I currently torqued them to), is fairly close to 90 ft pf - so I guess I will just leave them. Thank again for all the replies!
