Twins, hx-35 and hx-60
Twins, hx-35 and hx-60
I recently got a used/gernaded hx-60 for no charge. i looked at everything it would take to get it back up to speed. i found a local shop that will clean and polish all the parts and balance the shaft with both wheels for me and get all the rebuild parts so i can put it together for about $250-$275. the impeller of the 60 is about 65mm and the exhaust housing is a 22cm non waste gated housing. i know this would be on the smaller size for twins but if i wasn't willing to go with the 14mm pump parts then i should have a quick spooling twins setup that should be able to run up to 450hp on #2 right? and hopefully break 500 if i added that? tell me what you guys think of this. and............................................... .................................................. ...................
discuss!

edit: sorry, parts include a new impeller wheel as well. $115 for impeller, $45 labor for cleaning/polishing, $75 internal parts, $28 to balance

I'm guessing that by the time you spend the $$ on all the peripherals required, it may be more effort than it's worth...but I'm certainly open to suggestion. Most of us would do well with a set of smaller, or, 'towing twins', not only because we have daily drivers, but also because the cost to spool bigger leaf blowers is out of the finacial reach of many a first genner
My future plans include a BHT3B with the small housing along with my current turbo. I'm gonna slide studs in and keep my stock injectors, just to see what happens.

No, I'm not saying that the peripherals would be different, just that the cost involved might not return the fuel support that a good single would..then again, maybe it would...we need more discussion here!
The argument for the h1c/ht3b combo is that it's proven and a brand new ht3b is less than 500 bucks, and with the small housing and proper tuning, can cool 450-ish and be very driveable at 50psi or so...from what I've read, anyway.

well if i have to buy the compressor housing and wheel i feel that i would be over the cost of a new ht3b for sure. i know i got side tracked but if we can get a good throught process going on the 35 60 combo i would love to get some more insight, especially if kta is running a 60, anyone know what exhaust and compressor is on his?
