Twin shift on NP205, anybody done it?
Hello everybody:
I have the NP205 on the ground while swapping the A518 to NV4500 and thought that a second shift lever would be pretty nice to just engage front wheel drive in the different options (Hi, Lo). There are 4 wheel drive shops who sell the kits, I just wanted to know if any of y'all had done it and how? Any info. would be great!
Thanks,

It probably isn't too common, as I haven't seen or heard of anyone do that to their NP205 on their first gen diesel. I don't see any problem with it though, it shouldn't hurt anything. Twin stick kits should bolt right in, you might need to do something custom about the boot and interior fit and finish. 2wd lo range and FWD hi/lo would be a cool option.
I would like to do a twin stick but that would mean that I'd have 4 sticks up from the floor on my (future) 5sp crew w/aux trans.

really the only benefit i can see in a street/trail truck is rear low range and u have that already if u dont lock your hubs. if you want to do front digs then i guess u need it. but other than that i dont see the point. i guess it would fix a sloppy shifter but that is easy fix without doing a twinstick. it would be cool to be able to say u had it.
I have done a doubler with two NP205's on my K5. Go to pirate4x4.com they have the CNC'd part you need to bolt on. Its sweet dude, I can put it low low and it will crawl up a mountain with no one in it! There is nothing I have not been able to crawl over.
i realize that thanks alot for going over what i just said....what i was saying is that it hardly seems worth it and if you are going to go through the trouble to double it up why not double it to a transfer case that a thousand of people have done before.look on off road designs website theres alot of info on it but in my opinion the cummins has plenty of low end grunt.itd be cool if one would use it i just dont know whwt your plans are?
it could be done either way im sure. im positive that the 203/205 doubler has been done a thousand times so why not take the path thats been traveled before because there is plenty of aftermarket products to make it easy. but either way i dont know how necessary it is. maybe im just spoiled with the getrag first gear though.either way i want to see pics if you end up doing it that would be awesome.
