TV cable adjustment after "tweaking" pump
Hey everyone,
I did search but I couldn't find anything that explained which direction to adjust the TV cable in to get a certain outcome. I read the sticky, but thats for stock, and mine is already adjusted correctly. Now that I opened up the intake and exhaust, I finnaly turned up the pump. Problem is that it starts to defuel at WOT before it shifts. What direction do I want to go with the TV cable to get it to shift sooner at WOT?
Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the info. I could just go out there and mess with it, but I rather have an idea before I go, since its getting pretty **** cold! If it was 70 outside I would just mess with it untill I got it!

On the 727 518 618 The more pressure on the TV or what the old time 727 guys called the kick down linkage the later the transmission will shift. so less press on the TV and the trans mission will shift sooner. so make the gap longer move the cable to the back of the truck. Ken
mine did the same until i put in the 3200 rpm spring
now fuel like crazy
and no defueling before shift
do it if you have not already
bosch #1 464 650 366
follow the install in the sticky

On mine I just backed out the high idle screw, moved the linkage to the next closer hole on the pump lever fulcrum and I can turn 3100 before defuel and no load is up to 3600 or so with a stock spring. That will cure your defuel before shift issue and its easier than changing springs.

I may try that too. I did plan to do the gov spring, but haven't had the time to throw it in. If I can just adjust the pump lever that would be great. I didn't notice there being another hole on the lever... I'll have to go look.
Thanks for the tip!
