No, the 47RH valve body will not work. You will need a 727 lockup valve body. Earlier ones used a hydraulic lockup actuation method and later ones used a solenoid controlled by the PCM. I would recommend a later VB and use a switch. You will also have to drill and tap the back of the case on the left side just above the pan rail for the insulated connector to pass through.
You will also still have to do the conversion to the truck as the lockup torque converter is 1.125" thicker. At this point you may be better off just getting an OD trans and converting it to a lockup and a crossmember from a donor OD truck.

True measure of a Mopar fanatic is how he can spend 2000 hours, $23 and 14 cases of Hams beer to make something that those other guys just go buy new for $2500! Excellent work! We are proud of you!

UPDATE: I checked the first full tank of fuel and got a solid increase of 1.5 MPG. But having said that I've been running the truck without it moving quite a bit as I'm fighting A/C issues plus it smokes a lot more now because of the load. I'm going to back off the smoke screw some and try to drive it decently. I'm still messing with the A/C though but hopefully I'll have that straightened out in the next week or so.

I've often found that bringing up the smoke screw induces a turbo lag. Try tightening up the star wheel instead.
