Turn signals/brake lights dont work

Ok so the other day my lights and everything worked fine with no problems. Now I dont have turn signals or brake lights. Fuses are good the cigarette lighter was blown so I replaced it. Changed/checked bulbs still nothing. What else should I look for? Hazard button doesn't work either. On the fuse panel there is that round Turn Signal thing could that be bad? And on the other side there is a square thing like it then an empty spot labeled hazard with 2 connectors where you could put another relay like thing in. I need to get this thing going again cause lights are important.

No turn signals at all or just nothing out back?

I wasn't getting the indicator lights on the dash or lights out back either. I searched other threads looking for answers. I went out to try some things. and I found that if I push in the hazard switch on the steering column then all the lights will work.

Probably not the flasher if brake lights don't work either. Did you actually check all the fuses for power, or just test them for continuity. Make sure the fusebox has power to all the fuses with the key on. If so, may be a signal light switch problem. Try working the hazard switch in and out several times. If it changes anything, you need a signal light switch.

If the flasher is open, the brake lights wont work either. The flasher is normally closed for the brake lights to work, and opens to flash for turn signals or flashers.

If the hazard flasher is missing or inoperative, when the hazard switch is in the up position the taillights will not work. The hazard switch overrides the turn signals and also the brake lites.

If you said there is an empty spot in the fuse box that is marked as "hazard" you should get another flasher in this spot. Or if the fuse is burnt out, replace it.

I had the same thing on my 93. When I wook apart the steering colum and found the plug to the wireing harness to be loose. I tightend the bolts and problem solved.

The fuse in the "Hazard Fuse" position looks like it is melted. You should look into that.

I think the fuse that should be in there is 20 amps.

Actually, on the older trucks like this 1st gen, the flasher is the old 2-pin style. They aren't powered until the turn signals are activated. As soon as they are powered, they will heat up and start to flash. Brake light power doesn't enter the flasher.

Well, I just know that twice in the last 2 weeks I have had vehicles in with no brake lights to the two side lights ( 3rd worked fine) and the flasher was out. Replaced flasher and everything worked again.

Okay here's my problem that i had last year that is now solved. When I got and repaired my 92 i didn't have any brake lights or turn signals. Had no idea so i started wiggling wires. The last plug i wiggled was behind the glove box inside the cab on the firewall. I think it's the abs box. As soon as i touched the plug the turns + brake lights all started working, still to this day. The hazard button has to be in for the turn signals to work. But my hazards still didn't work so i ran a jumper wire from the hot side in the fuse box to one side of the hazard that is supposed to be hot that wasn't. Now everything works!!!
