93 ctd came with an h1c with an 18.5 housing. You will see the number 18.5 on the housing. If you are stock and staying that way or doing pump adj etc the stock hx35 from a 95-98.5 is the best choice in used turbo, a 94 wh1c is next best. In 98.5 and up they went back to the 54mm compressor wheel.(your 93 has a 54mm wheel) Just changing to a 12cm wastegated housing makes a big difference in spool up.

What DJ said. If injectors are in the near future the 12 cm will be too small, better to get the 16 cm or stick with the 18.5 cm. I ran an Ebay turbo for about a year before I upgraded to a hybrid, there are good ones out there.

Actually, an HX-35 off a 98-02 truck is best...yes, they do use a 54mm wheel, but it's a 7 blade instead of the earlier 8 blade. It's a better wheel!!

Could be a matter of opinion, I tried one off an 02 and it seemed slower and had a couple less lbs press. than the wh1c I ended up with. It was pretty worn so maybe that had something to do with it. The early 98 had a 7 blade that I thought was a 56mm.... I think you can get a 58mm from htt with a compressor housing for about 200 and it will fit right on yours. Check with htt to be sure.
