The old Banks Powerpack kit comprising of turbo, exhaust housing, 3.5" exhaust system and IC - came with the "quickspool" Hx35/14cm wastegated housing, with the option to add gauges.

I can't remember if there was a wastegate there, might had been, any other way to tell?

It's a Holset kit. They should work with a Holset Turbo. ISn't yours an H1C?

I would have posted this earlier but I was busy with my trailer hitch.

Edwin

Yes it is, I'm ordering a kit and re-reading the turbo thread one more time.

THAT KIT IS NOT A HOLSET!!

Be careful of Chinese kits. Brian {Thrashingcows} bought an e-bay kit and it only lasted a few minutes if that. I don't know how much damage to the turbo it caused.

A "Holset kit" Only means it is supposed to fit, It doesn't mean it is a genuine Holset kit.

this is what the real deal looks like.

I rebuilt mine the same time I did the 60mm compressor. That was a decade or so ago. No clue as to mileage. It's been on 2 trucks, used for hard work and towing, daily drivers. Never been a problem.

Well this statement is very subjective. If you are not pushing the turbo very hard, yes, you can get away with not balancing the “whole” assembly together & just wing it. We (PDR at the time) used to have a sister company that was a authorized Holset turbo shop attached to our building. I used to walk through our back door & walk into the turbo shop to see what was going on with our turbo’s. The turbine wheel, bearings & compressor wheel is all balanced together on a machine that is a pedestal style machine with rubber band turning turbo shaft from small adj motor and a strobe light....This is a turbo balancing machine. Small adjustments to wheels & shaft is then done with a grinder, until it is balanced. This 100% balance allows the least amount of harmonics on the bearings, shaft etc to max longevity & fastest spool up.

So, just buying a wheel & or bearings & slapping it on a turbo shaft & calling it good, will get you by but for how long it lasts is anyones guess. And yes, cheap isn’t always the way to go & can cost you way more in the long run.

Thank You mknittle I will provably be buying the one You posted.

Mark, I'm not buying the first link I posted, I wish I could find a good cartridge so I don't have to rebuild it myself but it looks like the are hard to find, the rebuilder I know wants $600 for the turbo rebuild and that is fine but I can't pay that so I was looking for an alternative in which I get something as good but with me doing most of the work, I'm open (and appreciate) to any advise on the matter.
