Turbo Identification

How do I identify the different turbos, to keep me from buying something that is not what it is represented to be??

Is the HX35 what I need to spool quicker and dissipate EGT quicker?? If not, then what is recommended??

Is the HX35 waste-gated??

What is the cm2 measurements of exhaust housing and intake housing of the HX35??

Will my existing down-pipe work??

What about the intake horn across the top of the engine; will it work with the HX35??

Is the overall size of the HX35 larger than the one I have??

I can almost slide a dollar bill between my existing turbo and the A/C air-box.

Thanks.

the tag is on the compressor side of the turbo and will say h1c,wh1c or HX35 or 40 exc.

yes,...untill you start making lots of power. You could allso find a 12cm waste gated hosing and HTT stage III or VI compressor housing witch is a little bit more efficient the HX35.

Yes, all of them.

12cm waste gated housing. intake ????58????don't no for shore!

With a waste gated housing on yours, our the HX35 the ex housing will need to be shortend....some guys have been able to move the ex back a inch for the waste gate housing

Not a bolt up situation, will need to be modified to work(your turbo, with a HTT III OR VI compressor hosing, can be order to fit you cross over tube!!)

yes and no...smaller faster spooling ex housing, larger more efficient compressor hosing and wheel with slot in the compressor housing to dill better with hi boost and low rpm drive(HTT copressor housing allso have these slots)

do you already have a waste gated ex housing on it now!!!! if not the you will need to have the down pipe neck, shortened

No, I don't have a wastegate.

I have the stock turbo that came on the 89 engine.

If I find a HX35, what kind of price should I expect for a good used one??

I guess a new one would cost more than a truck.

Thanks.

You shouldn't pay more than $300 for a good one.
