turbo charger silencer ring...
Re:turbo charger silencer ring...
On the 1st gen trucks, the stock turbo (H1C) does not have a silencer ring. Those who state they've removed it either have a later model truck, or have upgraded their turbocharger to an HX35.

Thanks for the input. I was just out in the dark, fumbling with the flashlight, and I could see that there wasn't one there. I thought it had already been removed.
Re:turbo charger silencer ring...
If you want more whistle you can take a dremel tool and cut the groove into the wall between the inner and outer horns (i call them) . Look at a 94 or later model turbo right behind the leading edge of the fins and you will see the groove. This takes alot of patience and precison but it sure will whistle.

Dremel tool
If you were set on doing that, I'd at least turn it on a lathe. If memory serves correctly........that channel is for "map width enhancement", providing more airflow and improving the efficiency map.

Yea that would be better but at the time it was the closest thing I had to a "lathe" It was just a experiment as I replaced it with HX 35. It did whistle considerably louder than the HX35 does.
