Have a 1990 cummins with a 5 speed will a turbo from a 1993 help I have alot of smoke when I shift the turbo from 93 is HIC Thanks

 

do you mean will it clear up faster?
i am running just the compressor side now with a custom cross over and my smoke stayed the same at take off and spools a little slower but i think it flows more air being that the wheel is bigger.

if you drive with a light foot on take off and wait for the boost to get above 5 or ten then push the throttle to the floor it might not have as much smoke. depending on how your pump is adjusted?
have you changed anything?

 

No, those two turbos are pretty much the same. One from a '94-'98 12 valve would help you out though.
