Truck specs

Was just looking at my vehicle registration where it had the registered weight set at 2182KG(4800Lbs) is this pretty precise? I had some older Chrysler's weighing in around the same. Another short q is what is the standard wheel size, 16X6? I hear this is the same as some kind of ford cargo van. Sorry about the basic questions, truck is out for a frame swap, I have the drive train here with me, getting... modified...
Thanks
P.

Thanks

Thanks man, I was just wondering because our famous government folk try and get every available cent out of us!! Sorta hard to surf through the various sites out there, but nice to see an active community around ( I am surrounded by Ford and Chivvies)
Take care now
P.

I don't know about where you live, but here in PA trucks are registered by GVW, not by curb weight. Getting caught over your registered weight is expensive here. You can register for whatever weight you want, but more weight = higher registration fee. My truck is only registered for 8,600 lbs even though the GVWR is 10,100 and the empty weight is around 4,800.

All your trucks must be on a diet. My 89 4x4 reg cab is 6200 with me in it. These are certified scales checked by weights and measures for sales of aggregates. Wanna, Have you weighed your rig on scales??

mine, being a d350 chassis cab dually with a heavy 10ft steel bed, tips the scales at 6600lbs with 3/4 of a tank and me not present. that was at a recycle plant and i'm sure they're scale is pretty accurate.

I musta had helium in my tires. Mine is up there too, there's an old post somewhere with the exact number from when I had it weighed but the exact figure has slipped my mind.

I drove my 93' W250 to the dump recently and discovered the weight on my way out. (6,940 lbs) This weight includes me, my friend, canopy, and various tools in the bed. The weight going into the dump exceeded 7,000 lbs by far. Interesting
