Doesn't sound like an air leak to me. If its only doing it when it warms up I think either the idle speed is too low or something internally in the injection pump is going

The no crank when hot problem is probably the starter contacts.

The surging idle sounds like the injection pump is going south.

I'm glad I'm not married to you!

Dave im not for sure but I think she might have meant it doesn't fire when cranking after its been hot.

Wink Diesel Diagram

Hey everybody,

I have a dumb question, but believe me I didn't come up with it.
Is there anywhere I can get a picture of a 1993 cumming diesel, that shows you what every part on the truck is called?
He has a truck manual, but its not detailed enough.
He's determined to fix this truck himself, but obviously needs a lot of help figuring out how to do so.

Thanks to all you guys for your help and your patience!

If you scour the pics section here you`ll probably find at least one of whatever you might be looking for, but thats probably a pain. I don`t know of any "single source" for all that stuff but someone else might. Good idea is to get a digicam, if you have a question snap a pic and ask away! And best of luck with the repairs, you have come to the right place, lotsa smart folks here!!

The factory service manual is quite good if you can find one. The other best source is this forum.
