going rate is $1.25 -$1.50 a mile when do you need it that depends ALOT on price because if it is go out empty and bring yours back its pricey as stated above but if he can get another load out there you could see $.80 - $1.00 it all depends on you!!!!!!!
Preston,
if he goes do you want to pick that one out of bakersfield CA and bring it north for you ?

.48 cents a mile is cheap. I think i'd check to see if he was legit and get it hauled. The next to last one I had hauled was a 968 mile trip and it was .67 cents a mile. The trucking industry is hurting right now you might find cheaper but I doubt it. What did the mechanic end up finding wrong or what did you do to fix your truck?
the mechanic found the keyway somewhere when he opened up the timing cover. I just got a quote from a company that was 799, then they quoted me again today for 451, with taxes and no hidden fees, must have lined up more vehicles, im definitly gonna be callen them.

If I were able to do it as an on-truck haul, $650 would be edit CHEAP to do it.
As a driveaway, you'd be close.
I'm unable to do it other than as a driveaway, even then it'd have to be plated and insured with a signed/notarized "permission slip" from the owner.
BE CAREFUL using U-Ship for having people haul your vehicles, they normally do not have proper Operating Authority and insurance coverages for the sort of hauling you want done.
If someone offers to do your job on a truck/trailer GET THEIR MC NUMBER OR DOT NUMBER and go to this link, which tells you whether that the person does or does not have the Federal minimums and MC Operating Authority:
http://li-public.fmcsa.dot.gov/LIVIE...y.prc_carrlist
Enter either an MC number OR DOT number, either will get the same company.
Click the "HTML" button in the "view report as" box.
At the bottom of the next page there are links to coverage history and they say when the coverages were active and when they go inactive.
My DOT number is 1222198 and my MC number is 486410 and you'll see that I'm current on insurance.
