Truck Hauler
Truck Hauler
Hey guys, My 93's fixen to be out of the shop in San Antonio. I now live in Chino Hills, California. The original plan was for me to fly home and drive the truck out, but my dads changed his mind and wont let me drive it 1200 miles. Anybody know of any truck haulers that would get it out here without knockin my head off , r theirs a website I know that looks for loads like this to take. Anyway, anybody got any ideas?
I would love to do it, but I'm sure you could find a cheaper way. I'm not sure how much plane tickets cost, let alone the cost of fuel for the $1200 mile trip. I wouldn't charge you of course, just the fuel money and tickets.
If it comes down to it, and you need me to do it, I'm up for it, but like I said there are probably cheaper ways to do it.

hey i'm just about 2 hours outside of san antone, i could drive it over there if you could fly me back so i could get my truck and drive back to katy. i'm always up for a road trip. like 91 said, just the price of fuel and the plane tickets
Just a question?? Why can't you drive it back to California? Just curious, seems like a lot of hassle to you. Anywho, when I bought my truck in 1999 had it shipped from Orem.UT to Apex,NC. It cost $650.00. That was the best rate I could get. I spent 20+years in the trucking industry so i had some experience in getting something shipped. I went through a broker in Wisconsin who got that rate for me. I found three auto transport companies within 50 miles of me and they wanted $1200 - $2500 to do the job.Needless to say they didn't get my business. If you go onto the "Towing,Hauling / RV" Forum here at DTR and post what you need done you might get some help there. I know there are hotshot drivers on there and people who transport RV's that might help you out or can give you advice on how to handle this situation. Good Luck!!

try "buttering-up" your dad, bought mine a 30pack and promised to cut his hair as long as i live in his house- and he took me to look at and buy my dodge, he's a chevy dude... but 1200 miles 2-3 tanks of fuel- its a long haul, hope you have a good stereo and gps, by the way im only 16 so this doesn't sound wierd
The $600.00 you were quoted is probably about as cheap as you will find. I had one hauled in from the carolinas for 650 and was thrilled on the price. How far is it San Antonio to Chino 1000 miles? I'm thinking 600 is pretty cheap. Price isn't all though, do they have insurance, will it arrive this month or next, how many hidden add ons to their price sheet do they have, is it 600 plus loading cost and an unloaing cost? Ask alot of questions. Google up auto transporters, auto transporting ect. and contact some of them and your phone will ring off the hook. Good luck!
Yeah, 50 cents per mile to haul a full size truck is a good price. You might be able to find it cheaper from some guy who just happens to be coming back from somewhere with an empty trailer, but that would just be "some guy".
