Truck died after losing power

The truck is a 91.5 cummins. I was in traffic and came to a stop at a red light, when it turned green and i tried to take off the truck sputtered like it wasnt running on all cylinders, barely any power. Drove a few more blocks and it gradually got worse. I shut it off right before it died and tried to start it a few hours later and it would not fire. I thought there was water in the fuel so I drained the water separator and when i tried to prime it back up there was no pressure, no fuel coming out at all. I cranked the motor several times and tried the primer, still no fuel at the fuel/water separator Could it be a bad lift pump? I need to get it fixed soon, this is my daily driver

Bought a new lift pump and put it on and bled everything and got it to run but now its runs rough and hard to start.

I bled the injector lines a few more times and it would idle better, then after a minute or so it would start running rough again.

Now im wondering if the injection pump is bad..

Probably not, but I would bet one of the rubber lines is cracked and sucking air.

They like to do that when you move them replacing the pump.

Its running again!!

I got a friend of mine to pull a trailer over to where I was stuck so we could tow it back home, the truck had been sitting for several hours.

When i cranked it the engine started although it was running really rough, and after one last bleed of all the injector lines it ran perfectly!

Im still gonna check all the rubber hoses, and by check i mean replace em. Thanks!

There must have been some air getting in or trapped in there some where..

Good thing i didnt go out and start throwing all kind of expensive parts at it
