Transmission Cooler Mount

You can't make this up. Factory frame mounted transmission cooler fell out, was hanging by the hoses. Apparently the rubber mounts failed.

NATCO called the dodge dealer on my behalf. They said they can't get any parts.

I'm open to suggestions.

The under-bed tranny cooler was a dealer-installed option offered by Mother Mopar and has not been available for years. (The complete unit was Mopar part number 8240 0994.) The cylindrical under-turbo tranny cooler is still available from Cummins (as would be the mounting hardware presumably).

Assuming you are referencing the under-bed cooler, the installation instructions provide part numbers for each of the components of 8240 0994 -- but the four rubber bushings are simply referred to as "Wellnut w/isolator" and no part number was provided. Apparently Mopar assumed you could find those bushings at any parts supply house?

Thanks guys. Jim Lane had put up a thread on the transmission super cooler, with the instructions. From there i got the term well-nut. Looking further, someone said NAPA has them, and I found that WellNut is a Parker trade mark.

Went to Napa, got em coming, mostly because of information from this site.

Again, thanks a lot.

When I had my cooler out to replace the core the well nuts were brittle and would spin in the holes, I got the replacement nuts from Home Depot, cost about a dollar apiece,
I also used these to mount my LED turn signal lamps but in a smaller thread.

The well nuts I got from NAPA have a very thin and small diameter head, and the threads are MET TRICK. They're going back.

Found a good assortment of well nuts at the local Hardware Hank. Had 2 with thick (isolator) heads and 5/8" long, and a couple with thinner heads and 3/4" long. Put em in for now. Got 2 more of the isolator ones coming.

Dealt with the dangling cooler and a radiator leak. Got a tow job to do this afternoon, about 6 tons of park model "camper" trailer to move 50 miles. Radiator leak was fixed with a Mishimoto aluminum radiator. What a beast that is. I like it already.
