Transmission Adapter

My flexplate tore out 3 years ago. I was on the road at the time so I had it replaced with a second-gen flexplate, but no other work was done.

Now I need to replace the rear seal due to leakage. Now I see the transmission adapter has a lot of abrasion and gouging from the original incident. I'd like to replace it. No one locally has a 6BT-to-727/A518 adapter including the dealer.

Any ideas on where to find one?

I've looked there. I was hoping for something more specific, thanks.

I have ordered one through cummins before.

Check redliner on ebay. They seem to have allot of parts for the cummins. I have seen a couple of trans adapters for the 1st gens on there.

Put it back together and forget you ever saw it. Nothing bad happened because of it in the last 3 years, so why worry?

He's talking about the engine to transmission adapter, not a bellhousing. Cummins uses an adapter so they can sell engines to a wide field of applications. Check 1st gen.org and maybe pm Mark Nixon, then look at 4btswaps... A used first gen adapter should be cheap, $100 bucks or so plus shipping. Unless it is actuall broken I wouldn't worry too much. I have seen a few of the adapters tore up pretty good from flexplate failure or bolts backing out.
