On my 92 ctd 4wd, when it is is in 2 hi goin doin the road it has a small clinging noise, sounds like it is poping in and out,,, 4 hi and 4 low work great when i put it in 4 hi and drive it down the road it doesnt make the noise,,, I would really appreciate some info!!

 

When you are going down the road and it is making that noise reach over and grab the transfer case shift lever and see if that makes a difference.

 

It dont make a do anything diffrent, i thought that would be it, it sounds like it is trying to jump into neutral or hi 4wd

 

are your hubs turned out, or sticking in and you think there out?

 

Try cleaning and lubing the linkage. Pay particular attention to where it goes into the case. I would love to find a two lever shifter for our trucks.
