trans temp sender
how did you guys mount your sender on your trannys? I thought about putting it in place of the factory one, you know the one that causes the downshift when the tranny gets to like 800 degrees... *laughs* anyway just fishing for ideas..

I removed the stock sensor and used that port for my tranny temp gauage. The stock sensor can just be zip-tied up out of the way (but leave the wires connected). The only problem I had was the probe was a little long for that port, so I had to get a couple pipe thread fittings to space it out a little. It works great.

I have seen 260* on a hot day towing and in a hurry.
DC says that the sensor will kick you out of OD and/or prevent the upshift into OD if the temp reaches 275*F
at that point you are pretty much cooking parts...sorta deep fryin 'um so to speak. not cool at all...

If temps are getting to be a problem, >245* try running synthetic. The ATF looses it's lubricity and protection quicker as temperature rises above 245*. Synthetics will run ok at higher temps, plus they have less fluid friction which helps lower overall temperatures.
