Trans Problem

Angry Trans Problem

I still have a problem can any one help my truck runs very well but since all the upgrades the torque converter is slamming against the front pump & welding the seal to the converter truck has 140k on it not a problem till now trans is a 727

Sounds like the thrust bearing is gone, that's the only way the converter can move other than a broken flexplate.

flex plate is not broke & crankshaft has .010 play cummins manual is .005 to .014

Those are the only options ss, you are saying its hitting the front pump on the tranny right ? I guess its possible under enough HP for the plate to flex but then bushing would hold it. Sorry i dont see any other option. No more money than you be out id replace the plate with sec gen and bushing as well.

Iam going to replace the flex plate & bushing iam also going to buy a good converter probably a goerend iam going to call them tomorrow thanks for the info.

Then you have ballooned the converter and you need a new one.

I think your right Dave I have built quite a few big block 440,s & 727,s but apparently never had enough torque to ruined a converter like this i did find that TCI converters blew up easily behind 440,s with nitrous coan converters held the best from my knowledge Also had a stock converter in truck when this happened the face of the converter where the hub that goes into the pump is blue in color I believe there is a torrington brg at that spot Tanks again for info I am just trying to get opinions because I don't mine spending money if this will prevent this from happening again
