Freightliner gauges in my 1st gen?

Hey, I'm new to this forum and diesel trucks (just got mine 2 months ago) I've learned a lot from reading the posts on here and I'm planning on doing some mods to my truck. I want to get a set of gauges before I start messing with anything though and my question is this, Dads got an older freightliner semi that he is planning on junking, does anyone know if the gauges out of it would work on my first gen? I'm planning on taking the pyro and the boost gauge out of it and I think they will work and they seem to be pretty nice gauges but I figured I'd ask on here before I went to the trouble of taking them out.

Thanks -- Keith

well the pyro.. you will need to take the whole assy out as one piece, probe and all and yes I don't know why the boost wouldn't work. The Dipricol gauges I have in mine are also spec'd as OEM gauges in CAT equip...

Every gauge from the big truck should be adaptable to the Dodge; just make sure you get the sending units and everything that goes with them.

You may have to use some pipe-thread adaptors to match the sending units to the Dodge ports.

The gauges from the big truck are probably better than any of the pricey/trendy brand-name gauges that come from the aftermarket suppliers.

I wish I had thought of robbing from a big truck, myself, a few years ago.

I would have a ton of big rig stuff on my truck, if there was a big rig yard anywhere close to me...

Thanks guys, I'm going to try to get the gauges out of the truck later this week and hopefully get them installed in the dodge this weekend. I'll post back on here and let you know how they work.

You need to take a trip into the Irwindale and El Monte area there a few Big Rig wrecking yards out this way; also there are some in the Fontana, Colton areas.

You might want to grab the air horns and a few air tanks while you are there.
Secondary tanks will be cleaner than the primary "wet" tank.
