TPS cleaning...

I have read in the past ppl suggesting cleaning them, deleting them and now substituting a different tps.

On one thread, someone suggested opening one up. There I SEE the problem now. The copper sliding contacts are worn thin, then when you go backwards it digs in and scores the contact. I will re-arc, bend, and debur the copper, but me thinks it is probably dead. Just a intelectual game.

Think onto the tps mod. soon.

Does anyone know the resistance of the TPS?

According to my trusty dusty 30 year old Micronta multi meter, about 2.8 KΩ. Actually anything from 2.5 to 10 should work. Theoretically, the limits are too much current and heat if the value is too low, and skewed output if the value is too high. If the input impedance of the sense circuit in the PCM is 100 KΩ, which is likely 10 K would produce about a 5% skew in the middle of the range.

I was successful in fixing the factory TPS.

Just re-arched the contacts and sealed the cap w some MIL-PRF-8802. I probably re-arched more than needed to get an unworn section.
