Towing

First time poster so go easy on me. I am looking into to buying a '91 d250 and was wondering if I could tow a mercedes 300d with it?
Also, what year did the cummins come equiped with an intercooler? And what is the difference between a d250 with an i/c and one w/out it?

1991-1/2 was introduction of the intercooler.

Several other minor changes took place with such things as radiator-hose locations, water-necks, and the like, also injectors got smaller and compression ratio went down half a point.

also the radiator is a lot better on the I/C trucks. my dad's early 91 had some issues with heat when we put an I/C on it. other than that, I have no idea.

You could tow three Mercedes behind it with the brakes set. Really though you would have no problem towing with it but I would reccomend a standard shift with the intercooler 91.5 and up.

Pre-intercooled automatics are also only a 3spd trans with no OD.

As far as reliability is concerned, is the pre-i/c engine more desirable?
