I finally got the wrench from snap on after two months. My question is can I bump the timing without a boost gauge or pyrometer? Just incase it might make a difference I am running 50% wmo.

 

Yea, timing bump makes EGT's go down.

 

So then I wont need to worry about egt. I am just trying to make sure I do not hurt it.

 

snap on 2 months. you could get a cheap one and bend it in about 2 minutes but that is besides the point 1/8th bump and the truck will run alot better and egts will be lower. Too much timing creates too much pressure in the cylinders and boom goes the head gasket, but that is in extreme cases go with the 1/8th bump and you will be fine

 

I am going to get it done this weekend I hope raining like crazy now.

 

i didn't have to have any bent wrenches or special tool. i dont know why people say u need one.
