Time to have the POD's checked?

Hey all, my pod's seem to be smoking real bad at idle compared to when i got them new 15,000 miles ago. A buddy suggested having them pop tested and i was wondering if anyone here had the same problem and sent theirs out and if it made a diffrance or not.
Thanks

Have you made any other modifications since putting in the POD's?

I had mine tested after 80,000 and they put 1 new tip on, calibrated them and cleaned. It made a difference in smoothing the idle out and right off idle. I would try running a double dose of fuel additive such as Stadyne or your brand of choice. With only 15,000 I would think it was a little soon for them to be out of calibration.

the only thing i have messed with is bumping up the timing. the smoke screw is out as far as it will go and the star wheel is set pretty tight.

Depending on where your timing was, you could have bumped it too far. It is possible to do that. Try moving it back to where it was and see how the smoke is.

Have you switched over to Biodiesel lately? I filled up with B90 and it took me 4 tanks to finally get it out. Truck smoked at idle real bad, was white or light blue in color. Decided then that my truck doesn't like that stuff!
