Speed sensor, or VSS, is at the rear of the transmission, driver's side, above the cross member on a 2wd. It is also 2 wires.

Woops, sorry for the confusion. I should check my service manual closer next time!
So I have a three wire VSS? Was this used with cruise control trucks? What confused me was the two wire VSS on my dad's '92. Thanks for the clarification everybody.

You should have three separate connectors. 1)Transmission O/D - it points straight up on the driver's side - it *should* have 2 wires - it's a weather-pak style connector 2)Neutral safety switch - it points to the left and back a bit on the driver's side - it's just below the shift linkage - it has 3 wires- it's some funky connector, not a weather-pak style 3) VSS - it's at the rear on the driver's side and points towards the left - it connects into the VSS itself which is sort of a squared oblong ovally thing - it has 2 wires - this is a weather-pak style as well. It's physically smaller than the O/D connector.

I just had all this mess apart last month. But of course I don't have any pics of the wiring connectors.
