Thermostat and antifreeze

I finished the KDP job tonight and also installed a new water pump, fan clutch and thermostat. The thermostat I installed was a 180 degree, I didn't see anything on the one that I removed to indicate what degree the old one was. Is everyone running a 180 or 160? Also used ethylene glycol antifreeze, is this okay?

160 is the one i'm running and I think is the stock degree thermostat. 180 seems a little hot to me and since the trans fluid goes through a heat exchanger (water cooled) before running up front to the air cooler, 160 sounds better.

I thought etheylene glycol was antifreeze

I use a NAPA 180* in the winter for extra cab heat and a factory Cummins 160* in summer for towing.

180 should be okay. I would be running a 190 or 195 if I could get one. Year round too. But I can't find one, so 180 will have to do. My .02 is that a warm diesel is a happy diesel.
