I would like to improve my cooling system as well, I believe with a stock engine the stock cooling system is OK, but after serious bombing, I dont believe first gen cooling systems can keep up. If anyone knows of a bigger radiator and fan, I would like to know, I dont know if I want to go electric.

Does the fan shroud help cooling? Mine is missing Plus all the bent fins and grease on them can't be helping at all. When I replace the kdp that I found in the oil pan I will try to fix these problems, cause it runs a little warm.

Yes, a fan is not very effective without a shroud. Get that radiator boiled out, put a shroud on it and you should run cool again.

Yep, had her on a doggy dyno and you wouldn't belive what she can do. It sure suprised me.. She's good on fuel too... She's an easy keeper. Can't beat anything like that, fast, good on fuel and a easy keeper.

You have to take it to a radiator shop. They drop it in a caustic bath where it sits for a while and all the scale gets flushed out. Then they pressure check it and patch any leaks, or tell you it's too far gone to repair.

What price range should i expect? Would that work for an inter-cooler too. I hade a boot with a hole in it, and I saw a bunch of buildup on the tube going into the inter-cooler?

I'm not sure what to do about the intercooler. The radiator shouldn't be more than $50 unless they have to repair a lot of leaks. Of course if it's shot it will cost you a new radiator. Sometimes the crud is the only thing keeping the water inside an old radiator.

Our local rad shop refuses to flush the intercooler 'cuz they can't guarantee getting all the flushing agent out.
They don't want it going through the turbo and engine.
