My '92 Dodge has the LE tailgate with the fancy silver/red cover. The fancy/red cover is in near perfect condition, but the tailgate itself is bowed and dented. It also does NOT have "Dodge Ram" stamped in it. (it is smooth). I am planning to put a cap/shell on the truck, but the back door will not be able to seal against the present bowed tailgate.

I found another tailgate that has "Dodge Ram" stamped in it, but it also has a couple deep dents (looks like it's been shot) that could be completely hidden by the LE cover if I can put it on that tailgate.

My question... has anyone done this, or can it be done? If so, I can do the layout and drilling just fine.
