Swap nv4500 trans

Is the nv4500 trans the same in a gas truck as in the 5.9 diesel?

I don't believe so but am not 100%. There is also a difference between Dodge and Chevy NV4500.

Basically Yes...BUT you have to change out the input shaft, and bearing retainer, and perhaps the mainshaft to get the proper output shaft spline count?

Nope.

The V-8 gasser NV-4500 is a lighter duty transmission.
It will have the wrong input and output spline size and count.

Can it be modified to work?..sure with lots of work, but it will always be a weak link.

I MIGHT do it on a Ramcharger 12V driver build that would never tow. Otherwise save the headache and get the right transmission.
