Suspension Bushings
Suspension Bushings
Has anyone replaced the leaf spring bushings on a 91 W250. I ordered some Energy Suspension and have not had time to do it, but I want to make sure I have the right bushings before I tear it apart. I have part number 5-2102R. Can anyone tell me if this is right? I would hate to tear my truck apart only to find out the holes were not the right size. This is what 4Wheel Parts sent me for the front and rear.

That bushing kit "DID NOT WORK" for my 93!! The front "WRAP" on our springs is BIGGER than the back...it take two different sizes to do the front springs! MAN I was ****** OFF! And when I went back to 4w&or they insisted they were correct even though I took the spring with me! So they call energy sus and they insist that they gave me the correct kit! KNUCKLEHEADS!! Anyway the front is about a 1/4 bigger than the back so I just had a new Rubber Bushing pressed in and guess what... It squeeks like hell!! I hate it.. If anyone knows of a urathane bushing that will fit the FRONT of our FRONT springs, I'm all ears..
I put in a set of skyjacker 1" soft ride leaf packs and the eyes inthe springs are the same size, but the bolt is larger in the front one. I didn't examine the stock leafs I pulled out though.
Skyjackers solution to this is to not run a steel sleve in the front eye around the bolt. I really didn't like the idea, but the front eye sees very little movement so it should last pretty well.

I agree with Andyr354. Skyjacker says in their directions that the inner sleeve may need to be removed in order to fit larger bolts. I have not had a problem with that solution with 5000 miles on the suspension.
