sudden symptom's doesn't want to Idle
Bad gov spring won't allow the truck to REV. A bad lift pump can cause all sorts of funky things. I was driving down the road and my engine rev'd hard and then died. Wouldn't start back up at all. I thought my filter was done.. replaced that and the truck ran fine. In fact I drove it 300 miles without one issue. The next day it barely started and smoked like crazy. I ordered a lift pump from cummins, a day before it was going to arrive the pump I had was done. Installed the new lift pumpe and here is a few things I noticed.
Better performance
Way better response
Air in the line was gone at the injector side (I was getting air in the lines)
For $91 cheap fix.

Well with the weather we had today I changed the fuel filter and surge is gone so Maybe it was a Plugged filter or plugging filter either way I am going to drive it tomorrow and see how it act's I have a lift pump in hand also if need be .
OK Just a Update think we figured this silly thing out . Changed the Lift pump and still had same thing .so we started chancing down the fuel lines and some how I had forgotten to put a hose clamp on the fuel line splice and we think it was sucking air ? So far so Good But we will see how it goes . Going to drive it some more before I consider it fixed .
