I just changed my steering gear for a new one, but its extremely stiff. I have a 1992 w250. Any suggestions on what I can do.

 

did you bleed the fluid thru the system?

 

I think so, although I've never bled the steering system before. I drove it in my neighborhood for a few minutes. It gave me a good workout. But when I was done it was still really stiff. It came with some plastic pieces in the holes where the hoses connect, which I had to remove just to hook it up. Did I forget anything? Do I have to do something special to bleed it?
