Talking Steering clunk

I'am having a problem with the steering on my 93 Power Ram 250,cummins turbo diesel, extra cab,4x4. I get an ocasional clunk on sharp turns at slow speeds like at a gas station. The spring bushings , steering shaft( Borgeson ) Drag link and ball joints have been replaced. The steering box was replaced 3 times as the rebuilts all leaked. The truck steers better than when brand new.
107K and stock

Does any one have any suggestions that I could look into to see what the problem might be. Thanks

Welcome to DTR! I get the same clunk and have not found it yet. I was hoping for spring bushings, but since yours are new, I'm starting to doubt that. I'm thinking cab mount, maybe? Mine all look good. I'm figuring if it was the frame, I'd have seen the crack when the steering box was off. No such luck. I'll keep ya posted if I find anything.

The clunk seems to be normal for Dodges. I had two vans that did it also. I think it's the steering linkage binding when you crank the wheel all the way. Mine make a horrible sound when I'm backing out of the driveway.

Check your steering box bracket for cracks!

I strongly recomend that you check your steering box bracket for cracks. Take a look at the photo below and those in my gallery and you'll see what I mean!

My drivers side tire will rub the drag link end when I make a hard turn right. The stop bolt is broke off in the knuckle. If you have nobby tires it could be the problem..Don't know.

I`ll second that. Mine was cracked but due to the rust/gunk/grease on it the crack was`nt visible.

The bushing at the base of the steering column could be the source of your clunk:

I had the sameproblem with my 91 and I found out that it was the stops when the wheels are turned all the way to the stops it pops. however there is a cheap cure,it takes about two cents worth of greese placed on the stops and wala its fixed. Hope this works.
