Steering bracket

My truck is a D250, not a W250 so I'm not that familiar with the crack-prone steering bracket.

Is that the major concern for the steering conversions? If the brackets were more substantial would the conversions still be necessary?

Has anyone made the brackets from heavy plate?

Poor design mostly. It flexes the frame and bracket causing fatigue.
The old Reverse rotation set up put the forces on a vertical plane where the frame is stronger. Probably why better handling is often reported after the swap.
