Starting to Clean up the look of the truck
Well I have pretty much finished the interior of the truck and now I have decided it was time to start on the outside..
Inside Pics
I have been trying to figured out how to clean these Aluminum rims that came on my truck for some time with no luck...
Well I finally figured it out..
***Warning DO NOT use the chemical products I used unless you do not have clear coat on your rims and PLEASE where gloves protective glasses and a face mask.. this stuff wil burn you and the smell wil never go away.
Here are the rims before I figured out how to clean the,

Well the Rims that were on this truck were very nasty and there was a ton of TAR on the.. this truck was owner by a paving company.
The first two pics are showing all the tar that was on rims when I got them

These steel rims are ones I borrowed from a friend so I could still drive truck while I clean mine

I bought 5 gallones of ChemDip and let each rim sit in that for 1 hour.. then I took them out and put them into this horse container I have and let them soak overnight to help get all the chemical out of the rim.

The next morning I took them out and washed them and cleaned them with some Professional Aluminum rim cleaner I have ( the good stuff ) anda buddy remounted them for me..

I am very pleased with how wel lthem turned out..
Once I get all 4 done I will take a pic of truck with them on.

A few years ago before I got my truck painted, I was driving down the street past where they were repaving the road, as I went by the equipment the hot asphalt truck broke a hot line and sprayed my truck with hot asphalt.
Long story short, the company represenitive I talked to said to try and clean off the tar with MAYONAISE, they use it to clean all of their equipment. (He thought it was just a few spots)
It does work but the entire passenger side of my truck was covered.
My insurance company had the truck stripped to the bare metal and repainted including new glass and trim.
What I am saying, is to try some mayonnaise to remove the tar.
Probably anything oily would work including diesel fuel or gasoline but wouldn’t small like a sandwich when you are done.
Rims look good.

Hey Bruiser, nice lookin rig you got goin there! Its quite along the lines of mine, though at least you have similar colors (black and brown) whereas I have the original Grey/silver, but with red doors
