OK Working on a 91.5 but I have switched Everything over to 92-93 wiring steering column and all . I go to start it by the key and 1 min it will work the next it won't What the heck am I missing . I am almost to the Point I am going to put a start button in it but Really don't want to have to go that Far with it . Everything is working but the start by key . Any Advise ??????

reason I swapped it over is guy bought the truck and then pinched a wire on the under side by the spare tire that was the wire for the Brake controller . so he fried the under hood harness and finding a 91.5 harness plus the inside was so Butchered it was Scarry how many times the wiring had been spliced .

 

Assuming the starter is known good, it 'bout has to be the ignition switch, the starter relay, or the clutch or neutral safety switch, or a connector to one of them.

 

it is a running driving truck and if I jump the starter wire it fires in less then a full turn of Motor Ign switch is where I am leaning tward's also that's the last thing I have to figure out before sending it on it's way home with the Owner .

 

Triple check all grounds, just as important and a very common problem overall.
