I still can't identify the starwheel and smoke screw separately, I thought they where the same thing. Mine is a 89 but it is intercooled and has the little steel hose from the pump to the intake (afc?) I think is the screw next to the pipe the smoke screw?
I thought the fuel screw, fuel pin and star wheel where the best one can do for more fuel anyway.

Thank You.

will this star wheel mod increase power. I haven't yet touched the full power screw adjustment. i have rotated the pin increased timeing 366 spring and no nylon washer. egts are at 1075 wide open. but i will be doing mudding with this truck so i should prolly leave it eh. My egts are fine on the street but get hotter with wide open bursts when stuck inthe mud! i would have to say recently after i did those previous adjustments its a whole different unit!!!!! opinions would be greatly appreciated on whether i should starwheel it up thanks guys.

No. Starwheel won't increase your power just how soon and how much boost it takes to move the fuel pin down for more fuel.

Just to make it clear before I put My hands on the IP, the power mods are the fuel screw (external) and the fuel pin right?

I'm building this engine for pulling trailers some quite heavy but it is just a work horse replacing My IH engine. I'm doing the fuel pin grinding, the 366 spring and a couple turns on the fuel screw maybe but I don't see how a smoke screw or start wheel is going improve performance other than blow more smoke that I'm not interested much on doing.

Sorry if I'm too but I do appreciate it if someone takes the time to educate Me on this.
